The next "Tualatin Exchange" will be on Monday, July 21, 7-9 pm

Hope you’re all having a great Summer and are looking forward to a fun July 5th! (that’s the next NE Puzzle Exchange. LOL! Hope your July 4th is fun too!)

I’ve been asked to put a couple of important notes right up at the top of this newsletter.

First, we have gotten more reports of puzzles from the Exchanges having missing pieces. Please remember, we don’t want puzzles with missing pieces at the Exchange!!!! If you work a puzzle with 1 or 2 missing pieces, please write on the back of the box how many pieces are missing and donate it somewhere. If a puzzle is missing more than two pieces, use it as compost or recycle it. The best way to make sure that a puzzle is complete is to work it before you exchange it.

Second, we have had a recurring issue at both locations where a particular visitor was observed taking a lot of puzzles home but never bringing puzzles back. This person actually created a bit of a scene when asked to leave — disturbances which were no doubt upsetting to other puzzlers. Please know, we’re trying to watch for anyone that may be taking advantage of our open trading policies in this way and if we think this is the case, they will be asked to leave and not to return. Our puzzling community is very important to us. The Exchanges work because of your generosity in donating puzzles, being able to choose new ones, and return them when finished. We strive to make the Exchanges a safe space to trade puzzles. To preserve a safe environment, the Portland Puzzle Exchange reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who appears to be taking advantage of the community or who is disruptive in any way.

As always, you are welcome to participate at either (or both) locations and it is okay to pick up puzzles at one location and return them to another.

If you’re new to the group, be sure to read up on the website about how the exchanges work. https://portlandpuzzles.org/how-things-work/

Have a safe week and we look forward to seeing you soon!
